With more than 30 years of experience, André Provencher is considered a leader in the Quebec media industry. During his career, he has held several executive positions, including Senior Vice-President of TVA, President of TVA International, CEO and Publisher of Le Nouvelliste and Le Soleil, and President and founder of La Presse Télé, Éditions Gesca and Éditions La Presse.

Mr. Provencher has earned a reputation not only for creativity but for strategic and managerial abilities as well. He has an enviable track record in corporate development, management and transformation. Under his leadership, TVA program ratings climbed to unprecedented heights, rising to 41% from 32%. The companies he has established as part of a diversification strategy with the Gesca Group have seen rapid and sustained growth.

André Provencher studied at the École nationale d’administration publique and is an Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC).

Since 2009, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association des producteurs de films et de télévision du Québec (APFTQ). He is also the Chair and founder of the Board of Directors of the Fondation de la Place des Arts, and sits on the boards of the Fondation Sedna and Alliance Vivafilm.
