Pierre Martin

Pierre Martin is professor of political science at the Université de Montréal, where he also holds the Chair in American Political and Economic Studies. He also is a member of the Université de Montréal-McGill University Centre for International Peace and Security Studies. His research and teaching centers notably on U.S. politics and international economic policy, public opinion analysis and Canadian-American relations.

Mr Martin is a graduate of l’Université Laval and obtained his Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He has been William Lyon Mackenzie King visiting associate professor of Canadian studies and Canada-U.S. relations at Harvard University, public policy scholar at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., and visiting professor at the Beijing Foreign Studies University. He comments frequently on politics in the media, has published numerous op-ed pieces in major newspapers in French and English, and he is a contributing writer for Policy Options magazine.

Outside the University, Pierre Martin chairs the board of directors of Giant Steps School / École À Pas de Géant, which offers educational and therapeutic services to about 70 children and adolescents with autism from the Greater Montreal area, and operates a resource and training  center open to all families and professionals.
